This community involves a group of people committed to creating a deeper appreciation of surface pattern design whilst holding ourselves accountable.  It is a space to discuss goals, build each other up and support each other through the lows. Since many artists live and work in isolation, it is important to develop a sense of community in order to allow one another to thrive and feel connected.

This community is similar to the way Facebook works in that you can create posts and upload images for others to provide feedback on.

You can use this space for the following:

THE PATTERN COLLECTIVE - In this space, you can create a post to introduce yourself, ask a question or ask for feedback.  Anyone can comment and provide feedback.  Mel will create posts here regularly covering a number of topics.  If uploading images, please ensure they are low-res and under 2mb.

RESOURCES - Everyone loves a good resource.  Mel will post here regularly with tutorials and videos she creates and other useful resources, but feel free to add your own juicy finds.  Please ensure you indicate if the links are affiliate links.

CHALLENGES - An art challenge can be a great way for any artist to improve their skills and build a body of work. It can even be a fairly social activity.  Mel will be creating a number of art & business challenges to keep you motivated.  Some challenges also involve prizes!!

LIVE Q&A's - Mel will be holding live Q&A sessions right here in the community.   I can provide you with tips on surface pattern design, social media and the business side of the industry.
